St Levan Surgery - New Surgery Appointment System “KLINIK”
From 29th June 2022 we are introducing a new appointment system at St Levan Surgery (this will be introduced at Adelaide Surgery soon). The new system is designed to ensure that you have the right consultation with (or support from) the appropriate healthcare professional in the most efficient way and to make it easier for you to contact us.
Why are we making this change?
The UK is experiencing a shortage of GPs and Healthcare Staff. Plymouth is one of the worst affected cities. This practice continues to lose a considerable amount of clinical staff time every day due to people failing to attend booked appointments. Patients are also requesting GP appointments when members of the wider team can deal with their problem or query. This change will make better use of GPs very limited time and will make life easier for you.
We know that our old system offers a great service. But, we are overwhelmed. Many of the calls we receive do not need the immediate attention that we give or could be managed more efficiently. We need this system to help us, to help you, to get the help you need.
These FAQs should provide you with all you need to know about the system.
FOR THE ATTENTION OF ADELAIDE STREET SURGERY PATIENTS:
We are inviting our patients to share their views on a possible move to a new health and wellbeing centre in Plymouth’s West End.
North Road West Medical Centre, Adelaide Surgery and Armada Surgery want to relocate to the planned West End Health and Wellbeing Centre and we are keen to know what patients think to help shape the plans.
Plymouth City Council and NHS Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are working on plans for a new, purpose-built health, care and wellbeing centre in the West End, in the vicinity of Colin Campbell Court.
The centre would include a range of services all under one roof in a convenient location. The new building would not only provide a much-needed modern health and wellbeing facility, it would also help kick-start the regeneration of the area.
Our practice is currently located in outdated premises and moving to a bright, modern and purpose-built facility would help secure our long-term future. We have been struggling with the increasingly complex needs of a growing population and an increased demand for services. Our existing site doesn’t have enough space to accommodate services for rising numbers of patients and we have limited space for office staff.
The engagement period for people to have their say about the proposals runs from 30 July 2021 to Thursday 16 September 2021. You can complete the practice survey here or hard copies are available from the practice. More about the engagement and the proposals are here. Please also see attached PDF document.
